Make Opera my default browser

Using Opera 25.0.1614.50 and Win 8. When I click on the button to "Make Opera my default browser" something funny happens! See the screen grab.

Oh, oh. Anyways, the message I get is, "No apps are installed to open this type of link (http)"

You already know the reason for that. https://forums.opera.com/topic/5593/opera-24-not-listed-in-associate-a-file-type-or-protocol

Your portable installation won't register in the OS. You'll need a regular installation for that (or manually editing the registry may work).
