The only happy one. Below is an example of a Windows 11 taskbar and start menu.

The icons are in the middle of the taskbar, what on earth?!

What are those icons on the taskbar? So now we have to learn the symbol for every app we install. What was wrong with words written in English?

Pinned? Seriously? My start menu automatically puts the apps I use most in a list, most used first.

If you've ever used it in that horrid mode without a 3rd party fix, you'll realise the recommended section is never of any use whatsoever. It puts a document in there you opened once and probably won't again. It mixes documents with apps. What a mess.

It's full of ads. Windows has now become 99% adware. A paid for OS is supported by ads, not acceptable.

Those icons at the bottom, which of them are running apps and which are links to apps? The only change is a little dot below them, not very clear, they've ruined it and made it like Mac OS. Windows 7 perfected the interface and it's been downhill ever since.

Just compare this mess with my simple easy to use one I pasted earlier:

Just look at how many people hate the new taskbar and start menu in Windows. Everyone's using 3rd party stuff like Startallback. Look at mine, notice running programs on the taskbar with text, not just a little icon nobody can recognise. Notice no shortcuts on there mixed up with the running programs. Notice the most recently used programs in the start menu easy and quick to access. How it used to be and how it should be. Look at a Windows 11 machine out of the box. The start menu and taskbar totally unusable.

The fact that those menus have been gone for a decade or more shows that the demand for them is not that high.

Also, browsers don't seem to be the kind of software designed to have files being opened on them on a regular basis, hence the lack of a open files menu.

It is necessary, as I said, for opening a local copy of a page. They always used to have it, but as is the way with modern computing, they remove the useful stuff and add pointless gimmicks. The sales department is in charge instead of the programmers. Just look at the mess Windows made of it's perfect start menu and taskbar. Windows 8 onwards and it was destroyed. By default, my Windows 11 start menu contains absolutely zero apps I ever use, and 20 adverts. I had to use a 3rd party fix to put it back to Windows 7 style.
