Since the update to version 92, the search suggestions in the search box are invisible until I move my mouse over them. I have two different versions. One of them is kept up to date. The other is version 90.0.4480.54. With the older version search suggestions are not invisible. I've reported this 3x, and there have been 3 updates since I first reported it. Is Opera known for actually fixing bugs?

Not really - this issue pops up only if categories are disabled, but in latest versions (without categories flag present) they are always enabled

I downloaded what Opera said was a portable version from their website. I wanted to try a completely clean version to see what happened. Instead of a portable version, it installed version 93.0.4585.7 beta. I'm really happy about that, I can tell you. Anyway... the search suggestions in that version are not invisible. I guess I just have to wait until 93 comes out. One reason why I use a portable version is I can easily backup and move all of my settings, bookmarks, and extensions simply by copying the "profile" folder to any computer. Moving all of my stuff to an installed version is a huge pain in the ass. And by huge I mean not as easy as just copying a folder.

Thanks for the ideas.

Nothing is invisible for me. Everything is fine. Windows 11 Version 22H2 (Build 22621.819). Dark mode or regular mode. Doesn't matter.

Are they for you? The version that has the problem is 92.0.4561.43. Opera says that's the latest version. I've tried using google and duckduckgo as my search engine to see if that mattered. It didn't. Version 90.0.4480.54 works great.

Unfortunately they didn't work. "Flag" wasn't listed,. I tried a search in case I missed it and all it did was highlight every word "flag". It should would've helped if they were listed alphabetically. I also tried using Light, Dark, and System as my theme. It's good to know that Opera lets these problems continue for so long. I'll keep updating ver. 92 and see if they fix it, but keep using 90 until they do. "But what about security!", they'll yell. I'm not trading in my car with round tires for a car with square ones just because it's a little "safer".

The fix is to enable the flag or to toggle between light and dark mode every time it happens.

In the latest versions of Opera, the categories flag is gone, so you should see the issue there. If you do though, toggle between light and dark mode to see if it fixes it and stays fixed.
