<![CDATA[Opera doesn't ask for Admin permissions]]>Hello,

I work in a domain environment and the Opera browser is installed on Windows computers, without asking for administrator permissions. Has anyone been able to "control" this installation in any way?

The default option is "current user" where it installs to "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Opera" by default, which doesn't need admin privileges. If you choose "All users", it'll install to "%ProgramFiles%\Opera" by default, which would need admin privileges, and it should ask. Is it not in that case?

There are also command-line arguments for the installer if you're managing Opera installations.

Chrome behaves in same way (or at least behaved some years ago, I don't know about current situation). Maybe you can use App whitelisting (or how exactly it is called) in your domain, this should block running unknown executables.
