How do I get rid of this so I can put the correct one in?   Or is there a way to get it to just use the windows associations?</p>

<p dir="auto">"Menu -&gt; Help -&gt; About Opera Mail". The Preferences path for operaprefs.ini. As in, the profile folder is the folder operaprefs.ini is in.</p>

But telling Windows to use Powerpoint to load pptx files seems to have done the trick.  Somehow I installed the full version of MS Office including Powerpoint, yet Powerpoint never got an icon in the start menu or the relevant associations.  So a MS bug.</p>

If handlers.ini is not there, you can look in operaprefs.ini.</p>
<p dir="auto">If nothing there either, then you need to do it in Windows. You can right-click a file, choose "open with", and choose the app you want (or browse to an app) while checking the "Always use this app" box. If necessary, you can go in the registry and change the file association.</p>
