There could be a few possible reasons why you are experiencing buffering issues on YouTube despite having upgraded to gig internet. Here are some suggestions:

Clear your browser's cache and cookies: Sometimes, the cache and cookies in your browser can cause issues with streaming services like YouTube. Clearing them may help improve performance.

Check your internet speed: While you have upgraded to gig internet, it's still possible that your connection may not be consistent. Check your internet speed using an online speed test to see if you are actually getting the speeds you are paying for. If the speed is much lower than what you're expecting, contact your internet service provider to troubleshoot the issue.

Change your Internet Provider or upgrade your internet package. Moreover, make sure the video which is buffering is running on 360pixel.
