<p dir="auto">Can someone please help this old Luddite - what's going, on, how do I fix this? If I have  to re-install Opera do I lose all of my bookmarks?  Thanks.</p>

I searched various sites and forums and found that others tried removing all traces of Opera (including associated hidden folders and registry keys) from their computers with about 50% success.  Others renamed various Opera folders or installation/upgrade files with some success.<br />
There've been so many problem with Opera compared to other browsers I've used that I'll just use Brave for now and see if I can resolve the problem later when I have more time to investigate and 'test'.  My other devices w/Opera installed still show the sync'd speed dials and bookmarks from my computer install.  It's just the Windows version that's a repeating problem.</p>

That has me confused, too, I'm afraid. Whatever it is, it works on Windows 10. I'd try Mini first.</p>

I downloaded Opera light or Opera GX. I was able to synchronize my settings and get everything I needed. It worked with Windows 10 for me. Good luck!</p>

I think this is why you 2 are getting an error message as it appears that MS is trying to knockout the little guys. I like Opera and it has a reputation of being one of the top 10 most secure of the browsers which are still left. If Republicans get back in power, I 4 one hope that they do some hard trust busting on these big companies like MS and AT&amp;T!!</p>
