Based on developer version behavior, I think in near future you even can't disable categories <img src="https://forums.opera.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/emoji-one/1f61e.png?v=89iooh84962" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-emoji-one emoji--disappointed_face" title=":(" alt="😞" /></p>
<p dir="auto"><em>This categories thingy nastiest feature in latest Opera development (and second occasion when I'm seriously considering leaving Opera).</em></p>

I had similar effects for some time on developer version, now everything is well again - I would blame Opera, but as there are almost no reports of such behavior, then it is likely that combination of Opera code and video adapter quirks (old Intel integrated here) is the culprit.</p>
