Chrome and Edge block them because of Google’s policy, and even the few that still exist on Firefox break often or come with sketchy ads.
If you just want something simple that actually works, try VideoDownloaderOnline. It’s free, safe, has no ads, and downloads in HD or MP3 straight from your browser, no addon headaches.

Please checked that It seems like many YouTube downloader addons have been rendered ineffective due to recent design changes by Google. However, the "Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express" addon for Firefox is still working well for now. If you're looking for a reliable way to download videos, it might be worth giving it a try before it potentially faces the same fate as the others.

Please respond quick for any kind of issues!

And even if it does end at some point, it's just a matter of looking for an alternative only once. I still prefer to only have extensions that are really necessary.

i am disappointed in opera for crossing over with google rather than firefox, so i will probably just quit using it. I was enjoying the quality of the GX browser, and that it is not apple, or rather google. However, that is kind of broken now. It is rather googled up.
well.... hmm, maybe 'iron' for default browsing and firefox for youtube? at least they are 'iron' chrome... bah, still google though, nm... it's a beach

Just add "pp" after youtube in the url and it will take you to y2mate, one of the many sites that lets you download the video. For example,
www.youtubepp.com/watch?v=<video_id>
.
