<![CDATA[My History just disappeared.]]>My history along with cookies and cache just suddenly disappeared like I reset the browser even though I didn't. Only the history of the last two days remained. Can anybody help me understand this issue?

I never got around to testing it out myself to find out but I guess someone did! That's not your browser's history, but your Google search history only. It could be of use in some cases though.

I tried to reproduce the lost history problem in Opera 89.0.4447.83 64-bit on Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 (Build 22000.856) when using "delete history below" at the URL opera://history, but could not.

I would try 2 things, if you want. First, log out of Opera Sync (and stay logged out for a bit) and try using "delete history below" to see if you can still trigger the problem or not. Might be a sync issue that's actually triggering the loss of your history. Second, test "delete history below" in a standalone installation to see if you can trigger the problem there or not. If not, you might have some issues/corruption in your regular Opera profile that's causing the history loss.

I think there is a bug in the "delete history below" feature because what I've come to notice is that everytime I've used the feature to clear selected search and shutdown my browser; I'd come to find all history 2 days prior deleted the next day. As I've not used the feature the last 12 days nothing seems to have been deleted from my history.

Ran the browser. Closed the browser

Deleted the contents of C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable\

Copy/pasted 'my profile' folders into that location

Ran the browser again

Nothing has changed

I should add, that I am searching and posting via a different browser, not opera gx

There was indeed a new profile found at the address listed. I have removed that from the folder and made sure that 'my profile' is in the location stated in the error message.

It's still not loading the profile however 😣

Opera GX portable. After windows (10) update, starting the browser opens in a 'default' settings state meaning, bookmarks, site log-ins, cookies, add-ons, history, basically everything has been reverted back to the default settings.

I tried moving the 'profile' folder out of the opera root folder but alas.

Could really do with some pointers here to get my opera back
