This is precisely why the button is problematic for me too. I tend to have a music app in a pinned tab like yourself, but the mute button being present means that there is a very small margin that I can click to switch to the tab without accidentally muting my music. The #enable-tab-audio-muting flag does exist, and I have set to Disabled, however the flag appears to have no effect.

Same here. Disabling the flag (disabled by default, but I set it to an explicit disabled just for good measure) has no effect for me, not even in Opera 99 without the Opera One UI.

This is sending me back to chrome. I have a lot of tabs open all the time, and when I click to another tab than the one I'm listening to, then back, it will mute it a lot of the time, and it's only in the browser, not even in yt, netflix, whatever.

That sucks. I was sick of chrome but this browser is unusable the way I use a browser.

With many tabs, muting a tab is unavoidable while left mouse clicking. (because of space constraints)

While this feature was in trial, I hear that it could be disabled. Now, that it is inevitable, it would be nice to be able to disable it.

And you need to click on the sound indicator icon for the tab to be muted.

Tab Audio Mute.
It is a feature added during some past update that mutes streaming audio on a given tab, by clicking the tab.
