<![CDATA[Opera update destroys Junction]]>Hi,

for years (decades) I'm encountering the following problem:
On Windows 7 64 and Windows 10 64 I'm using a standalone installation of Opera 64 located in D:\Opera. I'm accessing this installation through a junction "E:\Opera" pointing to D:\Opera.
Whenever I try to update Opera using the Update&Recovery windows when running it through "E:\Opera\launcher.exe" the update process Deletes the junction "E:\Opera" and replaces it by a folder "E:\Opera" containing nothing but a rudimentary "profile" folder, i.e. the installation is no more accessible through E:\Opera.

Is there a chance that this bug may finally be removed?

This is exactly what happened. As far as I remember you asked a similar question when I made a similar posting about 2 years ago, isn't it? You said that this is worth a bug report - but nothing happened. I just opened a bug report on the Opera portal. Thank you for your reply.

Then, open a command prompt and run:

mklink /j "E:\Opera" "D:\Opera"

?

Then, open Opera via "E:\Opera\launcher.exe", goto the URL opera://about or opera://update, check for updates, let it update and watch the update process booger things up and overwrite the junction etc.?
