how to stop spelling checker? It's just annoying.

although i unchecked the "check spelling" option in Opera Mail 1.0, it still keeps being checked when i create a new message.
Is there a permanent way to deactivate this?

Opera 12.16 and older: right click on a texte area > uncheck "check spelling"
