Should I upgrade to Opera 18

Hi,
I have been using Opera for quite a while. But this happened just recently, and I am wondering whether should I upgrade to Opera18 from 12 or not.
I bought ASUS T100, which is a notebook with tablet feature. I installed Opera, then found out there are differences. My desktop runs with Opera12.16, and I did not even know that there is version 18. I did not find wand button, and could not find a way to bring it back. Copied wand.dat from my desktop and put it in opera folder, but somehow password does not work. So I thought, forget it. Unistalled Opera18, then installed Opera12. Copied wand.dat. So everything seemed to work fine.
But soon I found out that Opera12 does not work well with touchpad. I have to touch links several times until it works. It is annoying. At first I thought it was my PC's problem. But it was not, because touchscreen worked fine with IE.
I think Opera18 would work fine with touchpad. But I am afraid to upgrade, because I saw this topic.

When I installed Opera 18, my passwords were copied from my existing installation.
I installed it using the USB install option, then launched it using a command line to copy my Opera 11.64 profile, which also uses a USB install. Edit the command line below to match your paths, press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialogue, and paste the command. This is done after installing Opera 18, and launches it, importing bookmarks, wand.dat, and your current session. It also creates and HTML file of your notes on the desktop.
"<Full path to Opera 18>\launcher.exe" --presto-small-prefs-dir="<Full path to old Opera>\profile"
A standard install should copy your Opera profile from 12.16 AFAIK.
