They have been imported and appear on the left side bar which is fine. The problem is that when I want to add a new bookmark (either CTRL D or the little bookmark heart), the dropdown does not display my imported bookmarks but only the bookmark bar and other bookmarks.
Prior to Windows 11, I could choose the folder to save the page in, but no longer.
Any suggestions???

I got an "Imported Bookmarks" folder in the "Bookmarks Bar" folder. I have no problem picking the Bookmarks Bar -> Imported Bookmarks folder or one of its subfolders to add a bookmark too. I moved the "Imported Bookmarks" folder to "Other bookmarks" and don't have a problem there either.

I'd try this. Goto the URL
opera://bookmarks
and rename your "imported bookmarks" folder. Then, create a new folder "Imported Bookmarks". Then, select everything in the renamed folder and drag it to the new "Imported Bookmarks" folder. Then, delete the now-empty renamed imported bookmarks folder and empty the bookmarks trash.
