<![CDATA[Opera deal wallpapers but not well ...]]>I discovered this because I must have clicked an image and on add as wallpaper, but then I deleted it from my desktop application, but then Opera kept it as wallpaper ... and with no possibility to delete it, must I keep it all my life ? I finally added a almost black screen as wallpaper in the choice provided by Opera
Did Opera decide also what I ll have to eat in my lunch ?

Sounds like the wallpaper in Opera was set to "Desktop" to show your desktop's background. But, when you changed the desktop background, Opera still showed the old desktop background as its wallpaper.

I can confirm this on Windows at least. But, when I restart Opera, Opera will then update. As in, the problem you're seeing is that Opera doesn't recognize changes to the desktop background while open, not even if you switch to a different wallpaper and then back to using the desktop one. You always have to restart Opera.

I can see how that's not ideal.

Precisely I think I added this picture I suppose by Firefox (no other possibility) and the choice was "as wallpaper" and it was actually added as a wallpaper and then I replaced it by another wallpaper by the Linux Mint dedicated application, and then in Opera I discovered that this wallpaper was still the background in Opera .... that is what worries me a lot because it could have been harmful in some circumstances and can be a privacy issue

Are you talking about setting a picture as the background on your desktop or as a background in the newtab page in Firefox and the start page in Opera?

Notice it is possible that the problem comes from when a wallpaper was not added by Opera, I ll add a new wallpaper by adding a picture found on the web by Opera (You have only to right click on it and then to click on the "Add as wallpaper" choice)

In a terminal, try launching Opera with the --user-data-dir=path_to_folder_on_your_desktop switch to make a test profile to see if it works any better there with the new profile.

I'am still not seing anything in the page opera://settings/wallpapers to delete a wallpaper and clicking on a X only delete the X and not the picture
In the .config folder nothing about wallpaper and the 2 only zip are default_theme.zip and default_dark_theme.zip

Goto the URL opera://about, take note of the "profile" path, close Opera, and delete the zip file.

However, you shouldn't have to delete it outside of Opera. In Opera, if you click the Easy-setup button at the right-side of the address bar, you should see the wallpaper in the Start Page section. It should have a check on it where if you hover over it, there will be an X that you can click on. Or, if you want to get to that section easier, just goto the URL opera://settings/wallpapers.
