Well, I reinstalled it, Again (It's so pretty), and it works this time. How long this will last, I don't dare to predict, but it's running smoothly now. I might even make it my default browser again. We'll see.

Even though I have now made Microsoft Edge my default browser, Opera is still a nuisance. I am therefore deleting it from my computer. I might come back to check on at at a later date…or I might not.

I'm not going to bother deleting Opera again' I'm just going to stop using it. Too bad, It's still beautiful, and it is fast. From now on. I'll be using Microsoft Edge with Vivldi as a backup. Chrome and Safari will remain in the background. (What's wrong with Safari? It should be the best, but it's slipping further and further behind. I don't like it at all, anymore,)

Your instructions were much too complicated. I don't even know if I would be able to do them, and I'm not going to try. It seems to me that a fresh installation should be enough; if not, I'll just have to make Microsoft Edge my "go to." Thanks, anyway,

I'll only add that I have four other browsers installed (Safari, Vivaldi, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge), and none of them cause me any problems. I just installed Microsoft Edge and it may become my favorite. Oh, for whatever difference it might make, I have an iMac using the last version of Catalina.

I'm now on my 3rd reinstallation, and Opera is still not functioning properly; however, it is much better than it has been, and I'm going to stick with it for a while longer in the hope that will eventually straighten out. When it's working, Opera is a gem.

I fixed it by deleting and reinstalling Opera. I might add that I've never had so much trouble in deleting an app.

Now I'm wondering when I'll have to do it again. I like Opera because it's beautiful and fast, but I have had my share of problems with it. It lost my Bookmarks. It lost my Starting page. I've had to reinstall it twice....
