I don’t use the messenger side pane on any of my devices. I don’t use an app to access Facebook on my phone or iPad. I use Opera. On my pc, Opera doesn’t prompt me to download messenger when I want to check my FB messages. On my phone and iPad, Opera opens the FB window and prompts me to download FB messenger. I was using Brave before Opera. Brave didn’t do that but I got tired of the ads for Brave crypto.

Is there a way to configure Opera to work like it does on my pc? Thanks in advance.

Should be in Settings I'd think.

Your user-agent identifies you as using IOS so the site shows that message; if they thought you were on a desktop computer they wouldn't show it.
