<![CDATA[[Solved]The combined Address Search bar is no longer working]]>Today I went to log into my email I go to the Adress and search bar and put in m and it comes up with my two mail links. Today it didn't do that then I tried search and that did not work only putting in a valid URL worked. it comes up with a pushed out box with a globe saying secure site on it today it never did that before. I can search through the google search bar on the but why was the search taken away from the URL address line? will it come back or will this be permenant?

Let's count. Chromium and Opera has 4-week release cycle now. Opera 81 Developer will be in beta very soon, possibly next week. Plus 4 weeks per cycle.
Perhaps Opera 81 will become Stable in 5 weeks, maybe a little longer.
But the developers can fix the bug for the 80th version earlier.
For now you can check if this bug is fixed in the Developer version yourself using Opera developer (Portable version).

Better check, because this bug was reproduced for me only after changing the theme in Win 7, but it did not appear if this was not done. Perhaps these are 2 different bugs with similar symptoms.
I have no longer a bug with the address bar in Opera 81 Developer. Win 7x64.

My suggestion is to simply get rid of the combined address/search bar. We already have a perfectly good search bar right next to the address bar, that works as intended. There is no reason to combine the two functions.

If I switch my desktop theme to Aero (which is needed to keep videos from tearing (true idiocy on Microsoft's part, BTW), then the problem manifests.

Switching back does not fix it. Only thing that does fix it is exceptionally stupid. I have to shut down and restart Opera.

There. You guys have what you need to replicate the bug.

Thanks. I just updated to v. 79.0.4143.22. So far I haven't been able to make the problem happen. Of course, the update caused Opera to restart. I'll try again after it's been running for awhile, and if the problem occurs I'll post it on the blog.

Opera 77.0.4054.90 Stable is the latest version, which does not have this problem.

I tried a lot of settings, but nothing changed. I have disabled all extensions, but nothing changed. I wrote to the bug report, but nothing happend.
Under such circumstances I would change the browser. But unfortunately I have so much login data and form data saved in Opera and all the histories. To rebuild that in another browser costs me hours. And I use the VPN a lot.
The hope, the other day the problem will be fixed, lets me stay with Opera, at this point. But that's driving me crazy, since I use the browser the whole day for business applications.
