The view is looking south west. If you look closely at approximately 9 o'clock from the center you will see the faint image of a mcdonalds arch. This is the rock and role mcdonalds. It has since been remodeled and the arches are gone. Chicago is distinctive for its grid pattern. If the wind is right, this is the view you will ge when flying into O'hare at night.
