<![CDATA[Messenger (Sidebar) perpetually out of date]]>Hello,

So, Messenger from sidebar is always out of date, and there's this weird rectangle at the left bottom corner reading "New! Messenger app for" with a download icon on the left, and if you press it, an installation file for messenger is downloaded.

However it doesn't update opera's messenger, but installs the messenger windows application on the computer.

How do I update the messenger of the sidebar though? Updating opera itself never worked for it, I'm on latest version and the sidebar is still outdated.

I do remember, however, months or years ago, when a horizontal line appeared on the top of the sidebar, asking me if I wanted to update it. This no longer happens ( obviously, otherwise I woulnd't be writing this 😛 ). What gives? How do I update now?

Then I don't understand what this message on the bottom left is about (shown in the attached picture). And can I remove it somehow if it's useless?

So, in theory, there's nothing to be updated.
