<![CDATA[Opera not responding every 10 minuts on Ubuntu 20.04]]>Each 10 minutes i need to close Opera and restart it because it stops responding. After a few times i do it i experience freezes and lags during browsing. I don't use any extensions, my add blocker is off. Today i have completely deleted Opera and downloaded it using terminal, so my profile is fresh.

No answers i found on the Ubuntu and Opera forums helped me. I don't understand what is the problem.

My PC is Acer Aspire-A715-75G
8GB Operating Memory
Processor Intel® Core™ i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz × 8

my free -h showing the following:

total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 7,6Gi 1,9Gi 4,4Gi 156Mi 1,3Gi 5,3Gi
Swap: 2,0Gi 906Mi 1,1Gi

And is not changing while Opera not responding

I am not experiencing any issues with running any application including games on my PC. The browsing in Chrome and Mozilla is smooth

There may be other optimisations I am just not aware of, but generally turning off everything you do not need in the settings should help.

However, it still opening for a while (10-15 seconds) and sometimes lag, but those lags are 1/10 comparing with 10/10 which have been previously.

So the tip switching off the "use hardware acceleration when available" worked amazingly, but still haven't eliminated the issue completely.

That said, it looks like you are running the snap package version, I only use the version available to download or in the repo's (I run Manjaro XFCE). Maybe worth trying switching from the snap version if still not happy?

Just to add, your system specs are much better than my 11 year old PC, and Opera runs great since I disabled the hardware acceleration, but also not a snap version.
