<![CDATA[Allow disabling of default search engine hotkeys]]>I was trying to look for a show called "B Positive" and every time I typed in my search, I would get switched to bing and it would delete the B and just search for Positive. This is very annoying and serves no purpose for me so I would like to be able to disable this. I'm using Opera GX and I like everything else about the browser so far other than that.

For example, you want to search for "y something" in Google, you type "g y something" in the search bar, and it'll work.

I know ours isn't the most common language, but a way to disable or alter this so that I can search in my own language would be nice, because it's not just annoying, it's actively detrimental to anyone searching in Welsh.

However, I don't think attacking a moderator is ever going to result in getting what we want. They're not the ones to get mad at, they're just a volunteer. The only way anything is going to change is if more people move away from this browser as a result of this "feature". I've never seen another browser that doesn't let me turn off these stupid shortcuts.

I understand these bla bla bla companies pay opera to add these, but removing this "feature" doesn't mean removing those search engines completely.
I also don't know why the mod "leocg" keeps on insisting that "It's not a bug" and "It's a suggestion and the devs may or may not accept" when it's so obvious to absolutely everyone and is without a doubt the dumbest thing we've ever seen and literally is in disbelief that this "feature" is in such a well made browser(imo).

I think this is a dead-end situation: Amazon, Bing, Yahoo, etc. pay Opera to be included in this feature. As long as there are B2B contracts between these companies, this situation will not change. This is the same situation as the websites (Amazon, etc.) shown on the Quick Access page when you install Opera.
