Gmail glitch -- can no longer attach files using Opera

Gmail works normally, except-- in the last week or two (since late Jan-early Feb 2021) on my PC when I compose an email and go to the "paper clip" symbol at the bottom to attach a file, nothing happens--no directory opens. This is a new Opera glitch. If I sign on with another browser, I have no problem.

It's working fine for me.
Goto the URL
opera://settings/siteData
, typegoogle.com
in the quick-find field and click "remove all shown". Then, log back into Gmail and try again.If that doesn't do the trick, test in a private Window to see if it works there. If so, you might have an extension that's interfering or you need to clear your cache.

You would be best to use a different browser. In my experience, browsers based on the Chromium engine seem to work the best with Gmail services.
For example, you could use Google Chrome, the Chromium browser, the new Microsoft Edge, Vivaldi, or another based with Chromium.
Other modern web browsers should work even if they are not based on the Chromium engine, such as the old Microsoft Edge and Firefox.
Hope this helps!

Ditto here. Same issue. Downloaded newest opera, cleared cookies, etc. No luck. Haven't had issues for years till last couple weeks. Frustrating!

@skipthole My best bet would be to use another browser.
If you love using Opera, then you would be best to download an older version of Opera. These can be found by using a search engine.
Hope this helps!

Note that Opera is based on Chromium. (Just in case you were implying it's not.)

@burnout426 Yes I know thanks.
I was saying that, in my experience, Gmail seems more compatible with Chromium browsers. I haven't had many issues with Chromium browsers such as Google Chrome, Opera, Brave and the new Microsoft Edge.
Thanks for your comment!
