I had some older version of Opera, got corrupted, so I deinstalled it and re-installed the newest. Forgot that I had hundreds of resources and sources saved in the bookmarks section.
Now, if I'm not mistaken my settings are saved (it has remembered my history for instance). I need to know how to get the bar that was on the left back -- whatever it's called Quick Access Bar (I have some bookmark bar at the top of the browser now, but not the left bar). I thought F4 used to work. Looked for it on google, on these forums, no answer. Can't find it in settings either. The bar had bookmarks (star symbol), history, downloads, etc., in a vertical row or bar on the left. How do I get it back? (It was very convenient beyond the resources I saved).

It sounds like Old Opera's "panel" option. ("Old Opera" being version 12.16 or earlier.) Opera 18 does not contain that feature, so you would need to re-install 12.16 (or whatever Old Opera version) to get it back. In Old Opera, you can make it appear via Shift+F12 > Panels > check the boxes in the upper section for which ones you want to show up on the panel > select where you want the panel to appear from the "Panel Placement" box > OK.

So that Panal option is gone in the new opera ver.
Let me just say that So Unfortunate Constantly Krippling Situation look like opera is being made for the simple minded with the erasing of really good features like the panels.

What other things are missing after Opera 12.16
