I had Opera GX on my computer and it was really shady. I tried to love it, but it did not open the web pages with valid login credentials, so i had to change all passwords for security reasons. And also my window manager did not allow me to arrange the opera browser, but for some reason that app window was not registered as the other windows apps did. It was shady and broken.

You get the choice with some compression browsers to have 'nearest' server / clearest server / etc, feed the traffic

That could be why it flagged the login as suspicious as you'd be logging in from a different location. If you had the VPN off, it might just be the site recognizing a different User-Agent string where the detected location is just false for whatever reason.

Opera GX doesn't contain malware.
