Windows 10
Opera StableI set up a password for my windows account and after I booted up my PC next day all my passwords ware gone. It was a lot. I removed password from my PC account and few passwords that ware rememberd again ware removed. Old passwords didn't come back as I was hoping they will. I've found Login Data file where are passwords stored and I saw some logins. I belive they are my lost passwords. How can I recover them to my Opera Browser?

As you've found out, passwords are encrypted based on your Windows login. You might have to delete your Login Data file (and possibly your Secure Preferences file) in the profile folder (path is listed in
opera://about
) and start over. But, before you do that, try using https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/web_browser_password.html to see what passwords it shows. If you have to, in advanced preferences for the program, set the chrome data directory to your Opera profile directory. (In advanced preferences, the Opera setting is for old Opera, not the new Chromium-based Opera.)In the future, if you want to change your user account password, before doing so, you can goto the URL
opera://settings/passwords
and click the 3 vertical dots to export your passwords to a csv file . Then, after you change your user account password, you can goto the URLopera://flags/#PasswordImport
, enable password importing, restart Opera and go toopera://settings/passwords
and import the csv file you previously exported. -
