Yes there is, but we're not slower. We do things a bit different... anyway, we decided to skip 23 - so keep your eyes open for O24 beta. It should be with us very soon.

It is my understanding that the desktop has opera 23 as stable version. Shouldn't it be same for other platforms ? Or there is a parallel development going on and android following a slower speed ?

The current Next version is 24 on desktop.

Beta is only that, a version that should be used by users for testing only and they choose what versions we need to test. My point is... Don't worry about version numbers, they rule the thing. 🙂

Then it would be Opera Stable 23 and Beta 22? There is no logic visible.

Beta is now 22 because there is no beta 23 yet. When the new beta cycle starts then beta will be 23.

Stable will never be on a higher version than Beta. Higher build number maybe but never higher version.

Beta always have to be one version above the stable one.

And it happens when a new beta cycle starts. 🙂 The beta version will not be updated just because the stable one was updated.
