Please stop forcing Tab Media Gif on Desktop.

First,
Bug related is not fixed since many versions ago, more than a year.

  • DNA-82626 [Win] High CPU usage due to media indicator animation

Did not fix the problem.

Second,
On latest Dev noticed you added the Media Gif even on PIP.

Opera will be totally unusable.

Videos:

  • Use WorkSpaces
  • Activate PIP on the Videos
  • Move back to the working WorkSpace

To use a WorkSpace just for Video Sites helps for an easy management

Music:

  • Go to Opera://Flags
  • Activate Custom SideBar Panels
  • Add the Music Sites to the SideBar

Or the same steps as Videos

For Social Networks you can use FullScreen or use them on SideBar since isn't affected by Animated Media Icon.

Simple checkbox that will prevent them from being animated.
There will be no need to replace GIF, loading and showing only first frame will be enough.

Animated GIF indicators forces high CPU\GPU usage. There is no need for that. Your sound bar indicator on tabs with sound works with over 300+ fps. Because of that Opera can be considered full-scale 3D game, rather than simple browser.
