I was not able to find anything that said what version of the browser I have except for:
"LVL2 (core: 68.0.3618.206)
Under the "About Opera" page, which is where i find the version info on other browsers.

If there was a way to remove those two apps from the side bar completely or an added functionality such as "Do no remind me again," that would be ideal. Or if there's a buried setting somewhere that i missed that would solve this would also be appreciated.

I use Opera less and less because this crap pops up multiple times a day, no matter how many times I 'turn it off' - if I cannot make it stop, I don't want any part of it.. if I did not send stuff to Flow from my phone for later reading I won't use Opera at all anymore and this crap is the reason.

Well, hopefully you get this fixed before you lose more users. It's too late for me, I'm off to try Vivaldi and I probably won't ever be back. Shame!

Do you have Opera Sync enabled? I suspect it might be another example of Opera Sync feature being broken for years now. It keeps syncing and undeleting bookmarks, I removed, every now and then.

In fact your reply reminded me to uninstall GX.

Another problem GX had that I feel I should write down for anyone who cares is that it had a very hard time with Twitch. After a few minutes it'd begin to lag and skip frames. Makes me think it was a memory leak type problem as the only way to fix it would be to close GX completely and open it back up again.

It's a real bummer that a browser being advertised as a "gaming browser" can't handle one of--if not THE biggest gaming platform. Maybe it's fixed by now, however, as it's been 2 months.

I started using opera yesterday and I turned off whatsapp specifically because I do not want the program anywhere near my computer. Then it pops back up on my sidebar today again. I switch it off AGAIN and I have spent the last 3 hours trying to find a solution that doesn't require me to download a third party software to remove this permanently. I can not find one.
If I choose to not use a program then that choice should be respected. I do not want to have to reaffirm my choice every few days or as some keep suggesting to me on the forums, just ignore it.
I do not want it, I chose to remove it.
If you can not prevent from returning then I will find another browser, there are many to choose from. I may go back to firefox, it may be not as good but at least I could control my workspace better.
