Been using DuckDUCKoGO to search. Haven't quite figured out what happens, but have been having an infuriating ad popup when I click on a result, usually TikTok but another product today, the ad has a news feed beneath it. Seemed to happen once I set Mini as default, I may reinstall it, but the numbers of ads mini lets through is poor, and this last one just makes it infuriating to use. Have Touch and Opera installed as well, which seem to work much better. Just a bit of a geek at the moment with choosing browsers

You are right. Even having installed adguard, it still sometimes show intrusive ads.

I like opera mini. It save data. But these days, it is not working as it was. It is bloated now with unuseful features like file transfer, news feed.

I use premium news app for unbiased news. Opera news feed is always from third class news website. Removing it can make the package smaller and faster.

I decided to reinstall it. Strangely , I thought, there is still history even though I uninstalled it. Same problem cleared cache, same problem. Decided to follow the news feeds which go to Widgets magazine, something like ldsk.opera-mini.net; I'm on my computer so can't remember the address exactly. So looks like the actual culprit of this annoying popup is operamini itself. I have newsfeed turned off in settings, so this is something separate.
