I have several windows open with some on a portrait oriented monitor and a main one in landscape. The sidebar is very useful in the main landscape window, but wastes quite a large proportion of the valuable space on those that are in a portrait orientation. I'd like to be able to choose whether to see the sidebar on a per-window basis so I can close it where it's not wanted, and open it where it is wanted without my choice in one window affecting the others.
