<![CDATA[Widevine and Opera]]>So we're back here again, aren't we?

I have no folder:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera

I couldn't find any widevind_config.json, so I made one, and tried to follow the guide made waay back on these forums, and read the comments and really, it's kinda messed for me right now.

Does anyone have an updated guide?

Running
Xubuntu 20.04 and
Opera 68.0.3618.125

And I have Chrome, and DRM works there.
Opera devs, please pay attention in class, and fix this once and for all!

clearly you have not got ‘libffmpeg.so installed so how can you expect things to work . Go find it and install it . maybe it got coerrupted or lost somehow

I don't know the details, but https://www.google.com/search?q=chromium+ffmpeg+codecs+extra+snap+package might help. The snap-provided codecs must be built for the version of Chromium Opera uses just like with the non-snap version. Then, for Widevine, you might have to do something similar. https://www.google.com/search?q=chromium+widevine+snap might help.

But shouldn't the easier option have the most mainstream options and choices for the "normal" more casual user? You know, those new to linux?

At least, that's what the store installed for me. The other store was upgraded at some point to the "Snap Store".

I haven't been testing that much, as you can see the folders are the same as before. But when I went to check for DRM, it said it had widevide, so I suppose it's fine.
