<![CDATA[Unable to install chrome extension: CRX_FILE_NOT_READABLE]]>I am currently running Opera 68, Win 10 64 bit, Install Chrome Extensions v 2.5.9. Tried today to load several extensions (all of the same type, HLS) and all of them failed with the error message:
Extension installation failed. Package is invalid: 'CRX_FILE_NOT_READABLE'.

Have looked on the internet, but I don't see any obvious solutions. Everyone seems to think the solution is to load the CRX file directly after enabling developer mode. That doesn't help when the file is coming from the Chrome Web Store and turning on developer mode didn't solve the error either. Do you have any suggestions?

Tried this one. It installs fine for me in Opera 68.0.3618.125 64-bit on Windows 10 OS Version 1909 (Build 18363.836).

HLS is an extension used to stream videos.

Assumed that's what you meant, but without links to the extensions, I had to ask.

Many sites now require this and a research shows that Opera does not support it natively. However, I've since tried installing different kinds of extensions and I get the same error message. It doesn't matter what type or which one.
