Yahoo.com is very slow after Opera's new Patch to the point it almost crashed/froze my system.

This patch is probably affecting other websites as well.

Here's my rig:
Intel core i5-2500k
Nvidia Geforce 1050GTX
16GB DDR3
I also have 150Mbps Download speed and 60Mbps upload bandwidth

So problem definitively isn't on my system.

You guys don't want anyone's computers getting on fire.

Also, I'm in the beta branch of opera. So what I just did was to disable all Address Bar related features in Opera Settings using the search function, kind of fixed the problem - it doesn't get near freeze/crash anymore - but the slowing down still persists whenever I type something in the address bar, the browser becomes sluggish; the system, however, remains optimal and I don't hear screeching noises anymore coming from the hard drive.

For now, I'll just keep all address bar related features turned off. I don't feel like doing any reinstalls here, because that means I'll have to backup a lot of stuff and currently I'm too busy with university.

Fix your goddam thing or else you'll start losing web browser customers. And you know how important they are. Cheers.

Do the standalone installation as mentioned and make sure it doesn't happen there. Then, in your regular Opera, goto the URL
opera://bookmarks
and export your bookmarks. Then, import them into the test Opera and see if the isue starts happening?

Also, if you have a lot of speed dials on the start page, goto the URL
opera://flags/#suggestion-scoring-improved
, disable the flag, restart Opera and see if things are any better.

Now, when Opera crashes, when Opera restarts, it should give you the option to see details of the crash. Post the crashid here so Opera can deal with the crash directly.

Also, I think the problem is further down the road as I just figured that typing something in the web browser address bar makes Opera Browser run extremely slow. I've no idea why, but maybe it's somewhat related to the number of pages I've bookmarked.

Not sure, but this didn't happen before.
If I have to do a clean install and start using it from scratch, I think I might as well as start using another browser. This one is completely unstable now, and I'm sure it's gonna kill my Hard Drive soon, whenever I type something in the address bar, my disks start making screetch noises

I never got this before with none of my application/software/games, it just started after opera being patched, and even when opera slows downs, none of my other applications become slow. It's just Opera messing up with the disks.

Do a test first. Download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop, set "install for" to "standalone installation", uncheck "import data from default browser", and install. Test in that Opera, but do not enable Opera Sync or install any extensions.

Does that Opera crash too?
