I am a new Opera user as I have switched from Google Chrome and Firefox to Opera, and overall, I am very pleased with the change. I'm glad to use Opera.

Today, something strange started to happen.
While I was on a/some random website/s, I wanted to change the link/URL/search something else and it just didn't let me type in the address bar for a few seconds. I find it very annoying and would like to know how to fix that.

Thank you.

It still happens. I'll try running a malware and virus scan and let you know if it continues.

I can then type and change instantly what's in the address bar, and when I press enter, the browser moves to the new address or search. Did you have a lot of tabs open. Perhaps your computer cpu was near 100 percent.

That problem you describe is in no way normal for the browser. I'm not aware of anyone having this issue. Now I'm using Windows 7 with Opera 22. I have 8 ram and more than adequate computer resources. What version of Opera are you using, and what's your Operating system? Here's something on system requirements. http://www.opera.com/download/requirements/

Does the problem continue? Just a thought because this doesn't sound normal: you may want to consider a malware and virus scan just to make sure that's not an issue.

By the way, welcome to the Opera forum, and to the browser.
