Deleted both programs. No option as uninstaller exe was for both . The 66 .... one would not work. Revo uninstalled all leftover files etc. Reinstalled Opera and all was returned to normal.

Revo says The 66... one in new programs and the 60... in older programs. Windows report two Opera are installed. I really don't want to reinstall unless absolutely necessary. So is it ok to uninstall the older version.

Yes, in general.

But, where is each one installed and do they both have an uninstall entry in Windows? It might be best to uninstall both of them through Windows while choosing to keep your data (your profile folder), delete any program files left over, download the Opera installer from opera.com, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to "C:\Program Files\Opera", set "install for" to "all users", adjust the other options and install. Then, make sure Opera is set as the default browser.

(or install to "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera" if you use the "current user" install option)

That way, you know things are right.

You should also make sure that there's only one update task in the Windows task scheduler after getting things right.
