<![CDATA[Opera is using 100% CPU continuously while watching Youtube video at 4K.]]>Opera is using 100% CPU when trying to watch youtube videos at 4K. But when I watch same video at chrome no issue happened, CPU usage is 25 % - 50% . At 1080P Opera uses 80-90% CPU but it boosts up when switches to 4K. Please look at the issue with care.

Note that , all my Extensions were Disabled in both opera and chrome during the test.

Wow, any idea what is causing this??

On other PC with Windows 10, Opera runs Youtube normally with low CPU use.

Anyone else with Windows 8.1 having high CPU issue in Opera?

It doesn't do any difference for me. Hardware acc is enabled. I tried disabling ad blocker, no difference.

Opera uses ~90% CPU, while Edge (same Youtube video) uses ~20% CPU.

See if it solves your problem with opera. And please disable other extensions and functionality from Settings which is not useful for you.

I was testing Edge lately and it uses even less CPU than Opera and Chrome.

Would love to continue using Opera for Youtube. But it's heating my PC too much...

It will show the codec being used among other info.

Video decoding/processing has always demanded a lot of the CPU, specially when it can't be hardware accelerated.
