Anytime I open it, it kicks back these errors:

[18343:18382:0105/192621.861389:ERROR:bus.cc(393)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix")

It opens still, but with issues: the top left menu refuses to open, and it doesn't spawn in with the typical window dressing that X gives things so that I can move/resize them.

I've looked around for fixes/info and came back empty-handed, anyone have any clues?

Most often the window manager is part of a larger desktop manager, but not always.

If you are running with no wm, possibly the menu is displayed but is behind Opera's window.
