The total amount of memory being used is over 1GB. What is going on? I have a Yahoo account that is just a tab and not open, one Gmail window for emails and two Facebook.</p>

Check Opera's task manager to see what are those processes.</p>

Depending on content, each tab can have a couple of processes, plus one for the browser interface itself - and the updater but that has its own name.</p>
