Interchange positions of bookmark bar and address bar

  • Please allow to interchange positions of bookmark bar and address bar. Why I suggest it is because sometimes I need to take screenshot of the page which should also include address bar, while the bookmark bar is not necessary or I just don't want it in the screenshot. As the bookmark bar is between the address bar and the page, every time first I have to hide the bookmark bar and then take the screenshot and then unhide the bookmark bar.

  • You could just edit the picture afterwards and move the address bar down over the bookmarks bar.

  • @concretable then it is better to hide an unhide the address bar 😃

  • @nikunj-bhatt
It is the bookmarks bar that you want to hide in the picture, right? If you take a screenshot of the window, load the picture into a graphics editor, select the top part showing the address bar, copy it, then paste it, you can move that part over the bookmarks bar to eliminate it and stick down the pasted section. That way, the bookmarks bar is gone.

  • This wish might help in your case if you only use the bookmarks bar in a new tab and never need to take a screenshot of the start page.

  • @concretable Right, and understood your previous message too - "You could just edit the picture afterwards and move the address bar down over the bookmarks bar." but this will take more time than simple (1) hide the bookmark bar (2) take screenshot (with page and address bar) (3) unhide the bookmark bar. Editing the screenshot is longer procedure than this.

  • @burnout426 I need bookmark bar in all tabs because I have saved some JavaScript bookmarks in them to perform some tasks. And I am not a fan of hover also.

The most easiest options for me seems are - (1) access the bookmarks from sidebar whenever needed. They are just a click away. (2) Use shortcut keys to toggle showing bookmark bar whenever needed.

However there is a problem with the first option as the JavaScript bookmarks won't work because the bookmark popup window is considered separate window than the currently opened tab.
