I've heard some users complain about that when it comes to default-provide speed dials at least. In that case, I don't remember if they were moved out of the trash and put back or just new copies were generated. Has this ever happened for a regular bookmark?

No other browser I have used has a trash bin for bookmarks. Why does Opera need one? It is just a nuisance, because bookmarks that have been discarded will keep coming back if you do not empty it after deleting the bookmarks.
