You can still download Opera 12 at https://ftp.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera/win/1218/int/ to use the built-in version. And, you can still get the stsndalone version at https://ftp.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera/mail/1.0/.

The standalone version is just an unfinished, experimental, buggy, modified version of Opera 12 to show only the mail part. But, a lot of users still like it. The built-in version is more stable though.
