<![CDATA[Dark mode for the sidebar messenger]]>All is in the Title. We need a dark mode for the side bar founctionnality for messenger.

I turned on advanced keyboard shortcuts as well, and assigned a keyboard shortcut to force dark pages...seems (so far) when going that route that it is page by page - might be the mods/flags I have on too. But thank you so much πŸ’– for this hack!! Was legit blinding myself and SO.

Opera Gx added a new feature where you can force sites to dark mode by right-clicking and select β€œForce dark page” on the site.
Because the sidebar uses the official Facebook Messenger site, go to messenger.com and force dark page it. Then your sidebar will also apply dark mode.

I managed to find a solution to display sidebar messenger in dark. I installed the "Install Chrome Extensions" from Opera's addon page and then I installed the "Messenger Dark Theme" from Jerry1100 of Chrome Web Store and it works like a charm for me now.

You mentionned you could get dark reader to darken this as well.

Keep in mind that the sidebar uses the Messenger. com messenger, not the FB Inbox messenger. Anyway, you need an extension to affect the Messenger. com also, not only FB. I think that'll do the trick.
