But just out of curiosity, why are Opera cache files dated 14-07-2042?
I would have expected them to have today's date.

Yes, system date is correct.
However, I checked and found that the application that I was using (indexing tool) was/is wrong. Probably a bug. In Explorer cache files show today's date.
Apologies for the confusion. I should have checked (using Explorer ) first. Am very sorry.
Suggest, if possible, to delete this thread.
