I looked at some pages today ( with Opera ) only to discover that some of these pages showed clearly but then the screen went black ( you could still see the pages in the background, but not clearly).

I've only had this problem with this one copied web-site, no problems whilst browsing with Opera.

Any way to fix this ?

All the saved resource html files have only this:

As in, there's blank content in the page. All I see is a white background. Same in Chrome.

Is there an HTML file with content that's missing from the zip file like "simon-gipps-kent _ A Traveller in Time_files.html" that'd be in that folder's parent folder?

Unfortunately the web site in question has already been deleted. The pages display then black over ( you can still just about read the content) that's what made me think there might be some way of correcting the problem.

I've just read through what you posted again and must have misunderstood you (unfortunately I can't edit my post anymore):

The display error you described refers to the download via HTTrack Web Site Copier, not to the original website, right?

Sorry for my misunderstanding. Some website administrators block IP addresses from which they have detected the use of certain programs. My questions were related to that.

Are the websites in question displayed correctly if they are visited with Opera VPN (or any other VPN service) enabled?

Can you give the specific address of a website that is not displayed as expected?

I have installed Firefox and the same problem pops up.

There must be a glitch with HTTrack Web Site Copier, but I haven't
found anything .

Much of the site works normally, so I'm really puzzled.

I'll install Firefox to see what happens, tomorrow.
