[Solved]Attempting to open Opera only brings up a black screen

I've just tried to open the Opera browser, but all I get is a black screen. Tried restarting the computer, but just got the same. The problem is only with Opera - all my other programs are fine. I'm running Windows 7 and this is the first time I've had anything wrong with this browser. Any advice?

@mgeffro If I knew how to do any of that, I'd be glad to. Unfortunately I am not savvy that way.

See https://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2019/05/opera-60-0-3255-84-stable-update/
An update with a fix was released already.

@leocg Thank you for that! Though on installation, I found that I lost everything from before - all my bookmarks, etc. Damn.

@leocg I did. There are no bookmarks or any other preferences now, and the Speed Dial page has gone back to default. It's a blank slate, basically, like I never installed it before.

@leocg Since it only gives me a black screen, I have no way of checking which version it was. I installed it about eight months ago, though.

@leocg Now I've another question. Now that I've installed the update, where's the VPN? I see nothing on the screen to tell me where I can see it or make changes. Isn't there supposed to be a VPN connection with this? (Thanks for any help, :))

@leocg Jesus, I'm having nothing but problems with this thing. I enabled the VPN and it promptly refused to load any pages at all. Turned it off - still won't load anything. Just spins its wheels. I'm going to try restarting my computer, but if that doesn't work, I'm dumping it. This is WAY more trouble than a browser is worth.
