I'm running opera 58.0.3135.53 in gentoo linux, and I'm having trouble playing pandora. The site loads, but after a minute or so of silence it says that it's having trouble playing.

There are a lot of posts out there concerning issues with pandora in opera for linux, but after a lot of searching none seem to match my issues. A lot are older posts that suggest turning off opera turbo. I've tried this, no effect. There are also posts where the culprit was issues with playing flash. I'm able to play flash on other sites, although I typically have to right click to allow it.

Any ideas?

One thing works on Windows and another thing doesn't work on Linux and vice versa. Going back to the days that Opera didn't play well with secure banking sites....it is always Opera with the problem. I use VIvaldi, Chromium, Firefox and over the years other browsers and never have the problems I do with Opera.

You have a good idea but wow - if it doesn't work well in the real world what good is it.

I just installed Opera in one of my Linux computers and I have no audio with Pandora or Sirius. Yes the volume control is turned on and up.

On the Windows Opera that is an issue with my Schwab account and hyper links. Doesn't work in Windows but works in Linux.

So I am over all this nonsense. Time for some autoremove and purge commands on linux.

You should find an option related to Flash there - make sure it says Flash is allowed on the site.
