Can you explain us how the Data Saving automatic mode works?
Which is the criteria to change automatically between modes (high, extreme, off)?
Which is the difference being in automatic mode, between using wifi and a mobile data plan?

is there any documentation on that?

If it's known that the site works well, then extreme mode is used. Otherwise, high mode will be chosen.
