Opera VPN stuck on "connecting"

Hey, so I've been using opera for about a year now, mainly because of how great the built-in VPN is, especially since i live in an area where a lot of websites are blocked. but recently, i bought a new and upgraded computer, and installed opera on it. But the problem i seem to be running into is the fact that opera's VPN function stays stuck on "connecting" showing the VPN bar as yellow, with the optimal location button/settings only showing Optimal Location as the only setting. I've tried disabling my firewall/antivirus, clearing the opera cashes, as well as completely reinstalling it, but I've had no luck so far. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

@nyxiom I have the same problem. Additionally, my antivirus seems to make Opera run painfully slow since the new Update (58).
Which version do you use?
Have you noticed any performance issues?
